Yule Christmas Card reverse
As well as a space to explain what Yuletide was, the reverse of the card was a chance to interpret the three companies in the Wessex Institute group in a mediaeval style. My main point of reference for inspiration was the border images on the Bayeux tapestry and illuminated manuscripts.
For WIT Press, the book publishing section, it seemed appropriate to have a monk writing calligraphy in an illuminated manuscript. For Wessex Institute, the academic and conference part of the organisation, a lecturer in his academic gown reads to a small group sat at a horse shoe shaped table, viewed from strange perspective beloved by mediaeval illustrators. Finally, Beasy, who create high-end software, (something beyond the understanding of most people), is shown as a shadowy figure practicing the dark art of magic and alchemy.
