As children we all wanted to catch a glimpse of Santa delivering our presents on Christmas Eve. This scene shows a child looking out from under the covers as the man in red leaves her room, whilst all around her toys have come to life to greet their hero. Outside on the roof of adjoining buildings are Santa’s deer (again, the local New Forest fallow deer) and sleigh full of toys, accompanied by some helper elves.

The hardest part was to make the toys appear human but not to allow them to look frightening or freakish. Amongst the toys is a superhero figure called ‘Captain Beasy’ who was used to promote Beasy software many years ago (long before I joined WIT) when he wasn’t much more than a coloured pencil sketch.
